     Over the course of the next few weeks I will be "Sharing" with
you some of my knowledge , & craft skills I have aquired over
the past 33 years!

I am going to "Share" with you "How To" do the Chair
Caning Traditional 7 Step Method, Chair Caning Lock Step
Method TM, & "How To" do a Hitchcock Chair using only
one Hand Cane Chair for all of the illustrations!!!

IMPORTANT NOTE: I personally use the Chair Caning "Lock
Step Method TM simply because you can Cane so many shapes
of Hand Cane Chairs without the movement, & shifting of the
Hand cane!!!

     IMPORTANT NOTE: I always "Feed The Wood" (with no
exceptions) when I Hand Cane a Chair because I know for
a fact wood dries out!!! I cannot in good conscience take
a Client's money if I do not "Feed The Wood" knowing it
will continue to dry out, & deteriorate in the years to
come!!!
     Only specificate parts are treated so I do absolutely
no damage, or harm to the hand cane chairs' etc!!!
     This is a personal choice, & will not be covered in this
Chair Caning Class. If you are interested in "Why, & How

Oops! Don't forget to throughly soak (about a dozen minutes)
your hand cane in luke warm water before you begin to weave
your hand cane chair as the creative artist which you truly are!!!

CHAIR FACING YOU!!! THE BACK OF THE CHAIR WILL BE "EAST"!!! THE
FRONT OF THE CHAIR WILL BE "WEST"!!! THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE
CHAIR WILL BE "SOUTH"!!! AND THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CHAIR WILL BE
"NORTH"!!!

TWICE THEN PULL
IT SNUG, TIGHT!!!

TO "WEST"!!!

As you weave your hand cane alternate where you

stop, & start so that your Hand Cane Tie Offs will not
be bunched up together!!!

When I do oval, or round Hand Cane chairs I always use
the joints of these Hand Cane Chairs for a reference point
to start my 3rd Step when doing any oval or round Hand
Cane Chair using the Lock Step Method TM of Hand Caning
a chair!!!
